Clear, lush, loud, easy to play, with incredible resonance.  Growling basses with sweet trebles.  Clean lines and meticulous construction.  It's very easy to see why Bob is one of the best.  This guitar represents his finest work while using the basics of binding, rosette, tuners and marquetry, thus the more affordable price.

Customer Feedback:

Bob: Congratulations on selling your great instruments. I went to Savage Classical Guitars to see them and they look great. I like his write up on your instruments. It’s about time that you will start getting the recognition you truly deserve for your dedication to the art of building top quality instruments. I have bought some of Rich’s Weiss (guitar transcriptions’) and he produces a meticulous product, so I believe he really understands quality in a fine crafted instrument. As for my Desmond I am a very satisfied customer and truly enjoy playing her every session. I am currently using Luthier set 30 medium high tension on her and I like them, almost as much as the Savarez Corum basses.  Sadly, I must say I do not play my loprinizi anymore I take it out just to keep it in tune, and to remind myself of the difference in playability and sound production between a good instrument and a great instrument.

Regards,
Mike

Bob,
I can't thank you enough for giving Richard and I the opportunity to play and hear your wonderful new creations yesterday! As always, you were very gracious with your time and knowledge (I always learn something new when visiting!), and also as always you've again created 2 new and unique masterpieces.

It never ceases to amaze me that while your guitars all have many common "Desmond" characteristics... dare I say a "Desmond sound"?... (warm and consistent tone, powerful basses, effortless play...to name a few), they all have their own unique voice and subtle differences.  It becomes very difficult to choose a "favorite" or "better" of guitars when given a choice, since they all sound wonderful, yet give different things.  I loved the beautiful and consistent tone the spruce gave, just a tremendous warmth, yet still very powerful sound.  And then, as I tried the cedar guitar I was blown away by the more powerful basses, and a little bit more treble (yet consistent) sound throughout.  The effortless play was also incredible. When hearing just ONE of these guitars by itself, you're instantly sold and say "that's the ONE!"...and then when you compare them I say "Ummm...that's the ONE also!".  :)

I can't imagine anyone not liking whichever "one" they have the opportunity to hear and play.  It's when given choices it becomes difficult for the player to really examine which they prefer, and when they all sound so good it's quite difficult to choose just one.  So, maybe the answer is to buy them BOTH, to suit whichever mood you're in? :)  I'm sure if most buyers could the would.  No matter which, you can't go wrong.  Also not to be overlooked is the always superb craftsmanship and attention to every detail, wow.

On a side note, my personal Desmond which I used for my performance last night sounded incredible as always, but even WITH the slightly dead strings.  When it sounds that good with semi dead strings, it always excites me to get the NEW set on it, that's always something to behold as well!   The guitar never ceases to inspire me as a musician.

Congratulations  on two new incredible creations, and thank you for giving them to the world.
