Comments
This particular build from
Frederich is discontinued, though it is constructed exactly as his
typical Concert Model. The difference is simpler marquetry,
ornamentation and the use of less expensive tuners, such as the Schaller
Machines with Ebony buttons. Regardless of this
simpler binding scheme, the guitar itself is quite beautiful to gaze
upon, where its sound and tone are a beautiful match to the simple
elegance of this guitar. From workmanship to
sound to playability she is an excellent example of master craftsmanship
from one of America's leading luthiers.
The
guitar is pre-owned but looks new. Either the owner took
incredibly good care of her and/or Frederich freshened her up, but
regardless, she looks great.
I
played the guitar this afternoon and you can immediately tell you're
holding a Holtier Classical Guitar. The man builds an amazingly
responsive guitar. The boominess of the basses, the sing in
the trebles and balance throughout can thoroughly consume you. I
found myself just playing for way longer than I meant to do so. I
was giving my daughter a lesson, or at least I was supposed to be, where
I played 10 minutes into her lesson. She was just standing there
listening and watching. She said, "Wow daddy, you must really like
that guitar". I smiled and started her lesson. The guitar is
awesome. So is Samantha, btw.
