I was looking forward to seeing an example of George's work.  I was not disappointed.  This baby is one of the clearest sounding Cedar guitars I've ever heard while being easy on the hands, never mind the eyes.  She's beautiful in every way, from the headstock to the rosette.  Clean lines, meticulous workmanship, she's as pretty as you could want a guitar to be.  I played thru the Prelude and Fugue of Bach's Lute Suite #2 in A Minor before I realized how truly effortless she was to play as well how much time had passed.  I test guitars, put them away for a day, go back to them, etc...this one I just kept playing.

This guitar is very surprising in a number of ways.  She has an incredible voice, clear, warm with effortless color available to you.  She is also quite powerful.  Inexplicable except to point to the luthier.  He knows something and he's not telling!  I had a concert guy over the weekend and he stated it clearly...."Best guitar I've played in a very long while".  He went on to say, "I guess the guy's name is kinda generic, but his guitar is most definitely not"!

Personally, I came away from my session shaking my head in wonderment.  So clear, with wonderful separation of voice.  The voicing, the color available, the dynamics possible, all of this made me realize I was holding a work of art, an affordable one at that.  The guitar is an absolute bargain at the given price.

George Smith hails from the great state of Oregon, building his masterful instruments in the Portland area.
