I don't
exactly know why Gil has not sold this guitar previously. He
called me a month ago and said he would like to send me a guitar.
Well, this is it and it is freakin' gorgeous. It is from late
2007. I can only imagine that he held on to it for himself, it is
seriously that good. As it turns out, I was half correct. It
was built for a client, who changed his mind, wanting a Negra. Gil
loved the guitar, held on to it, never thinking to sell it, since it was
that good. Finally getting around to parting with her, he
refreshed her and sent her to me.
Quick, bite, growl, rasp, percussive attack, with appropriate
flamenco sustain, she's a dream to play. Seriously powerful, you
can use her for most anything, though, in my opinion, she is a most
dedicated flamenco built for the demanding player.
Just
finished recording with her, and she is sweet. So responsive.
I really wish I was a flamenco guitarist. I'd have a friggin' ball
with this baby.
Gil is
a fantastic builder. Recently reviewed in Acoustic Guitar
Magazine, one can only agree with full assessment of his guitars, his
building and his work ethic.
