This guitar is another in a series of unbelievably gorgeous
guitars of the historical models built by luthier Darren Hippner.
Modeled after the modern Marcelo Barbero flamenco, influenced by the
Santos Hernandez and Domingo Esteso schools of lutherie. Barbero
is known to actually finish the work of Santos Hernandez, having been
hired by his widow to complete unfinished work on the bench of the great
luthier.
In this guitar, Darren has built a light, deep
sounding almost classical sounding guitar that inspires better play out
of the performer. Once in a while a guitar hits it out of the
park, and this one is it. I'm actually thinking of pulling her off
the market if she does not sell quickly. She is light, powerful,
more traditional with an ease of play that is astounding.
For an additional $150, I will install our new
PegHed tuning pegs, with internal gears.
They look and feel exactly like a traditional
friction peg, but turn internally, thus no more pushing pulling, or
struggling with the friction peg.
