I am
continually impressed with the level of craftsmanship that Kenny and his
staff bring to the table. It is clear that Kenny is unsatisfied
with a static approach to his guitar building and experimentation.
This Signature Series guitar simply floors you with its astounding
power, simplicity of play and sweet booming basses & trebles. The
workmanship is exquisite. The guitar is outstanding.
A
quick note on the trebles along with the balance, projection and ease of
play. First thing is that I've had my hands on many of the
Australian makers guitars. They are beautiful instruments, very
loud, but honestly, not too sweet. I mean Spanish sweet.
Sure...be mad at me, but this is my opinion, not yours.
Anyway, from talking with Kenny and Larry Darnell, and reading thru his
on-line journal, it becomes clear that Kenny is searching for something.
My brief conversation with him this Saturday morning before Easter
Sunday was centered on, "Do you remember what you did with this guitar,
keep notes, etc"? I had to ask him if this was able to be
recreated and or use this guitar as a benchmark. Well, Kenny
assured me that this is the benchmark and for good reason....
This guitar is the Spruce
equivalent of #2864. Playing her again just recently, I've come to
the realization that this guitar is simply outrageous. Powerful,
clear, singing and ringing. She plays way easy while sounding
incredible. Inspiring is the word that comes to mind. Simply
inspiring.
