Another of the great master builders from NYC, Manouk Papazian moved to his own facility in NY around 1956, where he commenced building his master level instruments.  This particular guitar, built in 1976, using the finest materials available to him, is a gem in terms of sound and playability.  The records indicate that he only used the best of materials available to him at all times.  He was most definitely an "old world" artisan, demanding the best of everything and of himself, whether he was building lutes, vihuelas, violins or classical guitars.  I can always and easily respect this dedication to one's art and it shows in his guitars.

This guitar plays and sounds like hot butter.  To put it another way, she is such a wet sounding, round, full toned guitar, with bells and basses that blend perfectly together.  It's creamy sounding, is almost the best way to put it.  She plays flawlessly, projects beautifully, where this would have to be in my top 3 guitars to record with, if I had to choose....and I have plenty to choose from...no joke there :-)

Apparently from his Golden Age of builds, Manouk tiled his name into the rosette, which apparently makes this guitar even more valuable as well as verifying its authentication by the luthier.  This is one of only 6 guitars built by Manouk using Bolivian Rosewood.  These guitars were very special to the luthier.
