We have a very special guitar here, by one of the great masters.
Finish touched up by Rubio in California, with a polishing, dressing and
leveling of the frets, the guitar totally deserved the TLC treatment.
She looks absolutely fantastic, deep and rich looking in every way.
Upon first playing her I was astounded by her power, then her ease of
play, and then her ability to color and treat the music I was playing.
Proving that traditional builders can generate power in their
instruments, I was again taken by the raw energy generated by this
guitar.
This is a gem of a guitar, with just some small finish nail marks on the
lower half of the guitar, ones that Rubio felt should be left alone as
to not compromise the integrity of the soundboard or really, to not
change her in any way. Good choice, great guitar. This
is about as good as it gets in a well played, but well cared for master
instrument by one of the legends of the business.
Please
note that if you save the photos, you can blow them up fairly large.
Take a look at the soundboard under the rosette and you'll see that
these marks are quite hard to photograph and or see.
