Comments

This is a beautifully crafted, light, resonant, crisp attack beast of a guitar.  I'm not a flamenco player, but I know guitars.  The quick raspy attack is very evident, while the playability is too easy as to spoil the classical guitarist in me.  She's fast, light, and powerful.  At $5200-$6000 for a new one from WK, this is an outright steal for one that is in such excellent condition.

From the luthier upon its build:  "The guitar has a very lively, colorful, resonant and responsive sound to it which is equally at home with a flamenco or a classical repertoire. I'm very pleased with it. The instrument is easy and fun to play and I really like the way the warm golds of the cypress and spruce contrast with the red-brown of the cherrywood bindings. This instrument should look and sound better and better as time passes if it is well cared for. It is very lightly constructed so its very important not to expose it to extremes of temperature/humidity.

The color of these photos looks a little too yellow on my monitor, your mileage may vary. But the effect, in real life, is certainly one of harmonious warm gold browns, white ivory, deep black ebony, Madagascar Rosewood, richness and splendor. And its sound definitely soars. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed building it."

Back to me, Fausto Casiraghi addressed some small issues with the guitar, took down the original polish and proceeded to French Polish her again.  In essence, she is a new guitar, though a string ding behind the center of the bridge could not be addressed further without risking damage to the soundboard.  I want to slap on a few golpes and she is good to go.  She sounds even better and is set up to play fast and furious on her now.  She is quite special.

For an additional $150, I will install our new PegHed tuning pegs, with internal gears.  They look and feel exactly like a traditional friction peg, but turn internally, thus no more pushing pulling, or struggling with the friction peg.

Sound Files Carcassi Etude #9 Allegro -  Carcassi #9 in A Minor.  Since I don't do flamenco :-)  this was one of my better choices.

No edits, just a touch of reverb.
