This category will display for you all of the Classical Guitars available to you via my site and studio that are what we term “Smaller Scale Guitars” that are less than 650mm in Scale Length or what some might call Standard Scale Length Guitars. This would be classical guitars that have a scale length of 645mm -640mm – 635mm – 630mm – 628mm and so on. These can be production guitars, such as Kenny Hill Estudios and Players, or Concert Made instruments by reknowned luthiers.

In my decades of fitting guitars to players, one constant has been the struggle that people with smaller hands have had with guitars that are not fitted to them or their hands/body type. A general guideline for most to follow is based on the stretch of your hand. Comfortably outstretched, measure the distance from the tip of your thumb to your pinky, much as when children (or parents 🙂 draw the outline of their hands on a piece of paper.

9″ span or more = 650mm scale length
8″ – 9″ span = 640mm scale length
7″ – 8″ span = 628mm – 630mm scale length
6″ – 7″ span = 615mm scale length
and so on, dropping about 10-15mm in scale length per inch of span less
