Comments

John Price builds a superb classical guitar with a musical voice, power and resonance.  The guitar is very active, bold, forceful and clear in all registers.  I will write more below when I record the guitar.  The visual on this guitar is stunning, the literal phrase, “eye candy”.  Coupled with her beautiful sound and play, we have a clear winner.

Condition of the guitar is Very Good, with nominal and honest play wear.  There are 2 small dings in the top that should be clearly seen in the photos.  Small nail marks that are tough to see.  Back and sides are excellent.  Setup is excellent at 3.9mm and 3.2mm low E to high E.  I found her easy to play.

Media

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio  – 220213-1997 John Price 497 Cedar Tasmanian Blackwood – love the big sound and air around the guitar, earthy, open, gutty, with booming basses and lilting trebles.  Quite powerful, yet intimate in her abilities.  Setup very well, plays easily.
