Comments

The guitar is essentially brand new.  It came from the Luthier Music Group and Tony Acosta, who then gifted them to the New York Guitar Seminar.  It has never been owned nor played.  Essentially, it is a brand new guitar.

John Price builds a superb classical guitar with a musical voice, power and resonance.  The guitar is very active, bold, forceful and clear in all registers.  These are beautiful guitars!  She is a resonant beast, with a quick attack yet the personality and sustain of a Hybrid Flamenco suitable for most classical repertoire.  She is brightish, punchy, yet musical and expressive.  The brightness is easily warmed and colored easily with RH position and attack.

I spoke to John about this guitar, where he says that Tony convinced him to give the Flamenco idea a try.  Building in and around 10-12 of them, including this one, they were well received by professionals and amateurs alike.  I can agree, easily seeing and hearing the benefit of an alternative hybrid flamenco, built in the Australian style and of course, built by John Price.  He just does not do bad…LOL  The guitar is simply fun to play, smooth in the hands, easy but can be driven as well.  Hybrid all the way and quite versatile.  Nice nice guitar.

Media

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio – Coming Soon!  – Quick, bright, ability to color, sustain, easy to play.  This guitar has it all.
