2011 Luis Fernandez de Cordoba #19 Spruce Cypress

Comments:

Luis is a classical trained luthier with vast repair and building experience, originally from Panama, he now lives in Southern Alaska. His classical guitars are affordable, well crafted, play very easily, with superior projection, affording the player a wide spectrum of color in their play.

This classical guitar is very light and airy, playing almost identically in that vein. Almost flamenco in her affect, she can rasp at you, or play lilting airs, Celtic music, being very suitable to Baroque and Renaissance Style in the same breath. Luis has built a fabulously versatile instrument in this Spruce Cypress honey bunny of a guitar.

Media

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio – 181210-2011 Luis Fernandez de Cordoba #19 Spruce Cypress – a wonderfully quick and beautiful sounding guitar, with lively voices, clear, and easily played.  I play a rough version of Sketch #4 and some other work, along with a Prelude by Weiss.
