2014 Steve Porter #29 Spruce EIRW
Comments:
First thing I noticed is that she is heavy, but not unreasonably so. This due to the double laminated sides of Indian Rosewood and Mahogany. Most Lattice Braced guitars are equally heavy. Steve uses Balsa and Carbon Fibre bracing in his lattice.
Easy play coupled with clear voicing, she has excellent projection. She is very pointed, balanced and focused. Voices clearly ringing out across all registers. A real pleasure to play, featuring an elevated fingerboard, ported on both sides of the heel ala Ruck. I sat with her for an hour yesterday, thoroughly enjoying my time with the guitar. Powerful and expressive, I loved the fact that she was forceful when I needed it, yet able to tone down her ferociousness and give me a sweet musicality.
Numerous refinements by Steve have led to a superior musical experience. Lovely guitar.
Steve’s workmanship is superb. This is an excellent concert classical guitar in every regard. I find myself picking up this guitar to play and practice with for the last few days, helping to open her up. I’m really enjoying this guitar.
