Comments

The guitar arrived this morning and she is as expected.  Superb in every imaginable way.  Her voice is throaty, powerful, expressive and so very musical.  She is setup very well, made to be driven, yet plays with ease.  The surprising warmth of the Spruce is unexpected, but the reward is sustain coupled with a musicality that is immediately evident.

The guitar needs to be heard and played to truly appreciate the high level that Jean-Noel brings to the table.  Double sided using Cypress, it is immediately apparent that he is a protegé of Daniel Friederich and Dominique Field (among others), with a rich bell-like auditorium sound to the overall guitar.

Condition is excellent, with nominal and honest play wear.  The guitar was well cared for in all regards.

Jean-Noel, building out of Strasbourg, France, now has an 8 year waiting list.   She is awesome.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio220906-2015 Jean Noel Rohe 69 Spruce EIRW – A superb experience in her play, sound, sustain and voice.  She is brilliantly clear without too much brightness.  Push in the basses, cello-ish in the mids, crystal in the high end.  Yes sir!  Best example of his guitar that I’ve seen yet, and I have had a few.  Warmed up with Bach Violin Sonatas and Partitas the last few days, working on the chops.  She fell right into it with me.
