At this point, all I know is that Mikhail, or Misha to his friends, is building very few guitars of late. When he is building, he is truly crafting that which inspires him. From the woods used, to the design, this guitar is deep from the soul of this great Canadian Luthier. The Spruce and the Flamed Maple are as Old Stock as it gets in this business. Misha is very pleased with the work, the sound, and the play of this instrument. She is superb, with a beautiful voice, musical immediately, expressive at the slightest touch. This is an impressive guitar.
When she came, I was blown away. What a pleasure. With a silky, sublime voice, she resonates and fills the room with music immediately. She already possesses an old world voice and she’s a baby still. This is an amazing classical guitar by one of Canada’s greatest luthiers.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich

George is a DMA Candidate out of Stony Brook University, where he will receive his Doctor of Musical Arts in the Spring of 2017, studying with the great Jerry Willard. George regularly performs on modern guitar as well as historical instruments such as theorbo. He currently teaches at the Great Neck Music Conservatory, Music Conservatory of Westchester and at his home studio in Forest Hills, Queens. He has lectured at California State University Northridge and Yuba Community College in California.
