Oscar Munoz is known to me, but I have not seen his work before this guitar. I was not surprised to find the guitar to be a playing little beast of a guitar. She is clear, vibrant, almost sensual in her Spanish character. The woods are excellent, the Cedar is magnificent, the Bocote simply drop dead gorgeous. It is such an incredible choice, for character and looks. Simply Superb!
I was intrigued about the Bocote woods, used in the guitar, finding out that it is an exotic wood native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. I have had and sold quite a few guitars that used these woods. They were all superb, including a Bocote Model from Silvia Zanchi of Italy. The wood features a wide range of grain patterns from straight to wild, with curved lines and swirls. The color ranges from golden brown to tan to golden yellow. It is a hard, heavy, and dense wood, strong and stiff, with a medium texture. It is a close relative to Ziricote, where harvesting is done selectively using mules, helping to maintain a sustainable resource, avoiding clearing when cutting.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.
