Specs

Yuolong Guo is a renowned luthier from China, probably buildng some of the nicest and professional grade classical guitars in the region.   I was interested to take a look, rather skeptically, but I have to give it to him, he’s producing a wonderful guitar.

This guitar is a Cedar/Cedar Double Top with a thin layer of Nomex, adding strength and stability to the top.  It is also lattice braced adding more stability.  The back is slightly arched in the manner of Australian guitars, giving us the best of both worlds.

She is beautiful, first of all.  Her play is excellent.  Voice is clear, louder than expected, with great push in the Bass, a bit of growl in the mids and sing in her upper voices.  I found her a bit darker in her voices, due to the Cedar, more than likely, but the clarity of voice is more than evident. Pretty much a win here.

Upgrades are fine tuning machines, an armrest and the ports with an elevated fretboard.

The case is an excellent example of a CrossRock with Yuo’s branding and logo.

Condition is excellent, as the owner did quite good with her.   Honest and smallish play wear, nothing significant.  I took a full frontal shot that you can blow up.  Ask me any questions, I’ll do my best, as always.

I performed a complete setup on the guitar, improving the vibrancy of tone, volume stringing the classical guitar with my High Tension strings.  Man, did she pop, range and voice, volume and projection.  A deep polish, cleaned up the fretboard, oil and buffing, she came out wonderfully.  You are going to love this guitar.

Machines are really good, case is excellent.  Overall, an excellent value.

Please note that at this time of year, humidifiers are running constantly.  This creates dust in the photographs.  As much as I work to wipe them down, blow them off with a machine, dust still seems to find its way on to the tops and backs.  Those white specks you might see in the photos are NOT imperfections, but simply dust that we cannot eradicate.  We really do work this hard for you.  Rich

Media

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks.
