Clearly Michael O’Leary is a superb builder with excellent taste.  This is his Exclusive model, his highest end build, coupled with Klaus Scheller Engraved Tuning Machines with Michael’s stamp.  The woods are especially selected for his highest end model, including the Cocobolo RW.

Apparently, there is a 3 year waiting list for one of his guitars, and growing.  The guitar is very active, bold, forceful and clear in all registers.

The owner wishes a more traditional build, thus offering this excellent example of Michael’s work with some honest and fairly light play wear.  There are some nail scratches above the rosette, bass side that showed up in the photos.  They are also evident on the treble side of the rosette, down to the binding area of the treble side, parallel to the center of the rosette.  They did not show up in photos, but they are there.  From a few feet away, you will not see them, but full disclosure always.  Back and sides look phenomenal.   I took quadrant photos of the top, but nothing is really popping out at me regarding this guitar.  I attempted to darken and highlight contrast, but they are simply not showing up.  (See photos attached toward the end of the shoot).  I’m doing this now for all “Pre-Owned” guitars, taking specific quadrant photos to show you exactly what is going on with a guitar, if anything.  The case is a BAM XL which is wonderfully light and protective case, with clearly a bit of use on her.  Again, see photos.

Eye Candy is a term we use quite a bit when appropriate here in the gallery.  This guitar has a whole big bag of eye candy all to itself (quite selfish, actually LOL).  Fortunately, she also has a voice to match.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks.
