Meeting Manuel Adalid was a special treat for me, knowing of his longstanding pedigree in the industry, as well as his work ethic.   Playing some of his concert classical guitars was an equal pleasure.  I decided then and there that I would have Manuel’s best work in my own gallery.   From the Lacote to the Torres to the Hauser to his own Anniversario, I was so immensely taken with his guitar’s ability to voice the music authentically, with subtlety, and with grace.

OK, so this is a Hauser model, NOT a Bench Copy (see the bench copy Hauser I had available).

It is a Hauser copy, but maybe better to classify her as Hauser inspired.  Still, a really nice guitar, priced well, with a gorgeous sound, look and feel.  I have these specially built for me to exacting specifications by the shop luthiers overseen by Manuel.  They must be perfect or they are not here.

Having sat down (finally!) with this guitar and the sister Torres #005, I have to tell you that this guitar is really impressive.  Very clean work, easy play, and bam, what a sound!  I mean seriously, Hausers don’t normally sound like this, very explosive, active soundboard, very clear, crystal trebles with a vibrant and resonant mid voice and basses coupled with that strong clear Spruce Hauser characteristic and I was left with a big smile on the face.  This is a really nice guitar, actually a great guitar, well built, worth much more than what is being asked.

Sidenote (but important) – There have been some questions about another dealer (Western USA) offering the same Hauser by Adalid for quite a bit less.  I can explain it, but I won’t do it here, at least not in total.  Bottom line…they are NOT the same guitar.  The Hauser that I offer here is now 3rd stage (and heck, maybe 4th stage) development, where Manuel has been working closely with a colleague and good friend of mine in perfecting and honing the build, the finish, the sound, etc to where we are right now.  I encourage you to buy the other guitar (so you can end up returning it), just to see and hear for yourself the differences, of which there are many.  I have full confidence in what I offer here and if I did not like it (or for that matter…love it), I would simply send them back to Manuel and tell him, try again.  No need….these guitars are golden.  Rich

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks.
