Comments
Just arrived, this guitar is another superb example of the beauty, warmth, roundness and clarity of Western Red Cedar used as a top soundboard! Pretty, full bodied voice, very powerful as well, and easy to play. The Double Top works very well, while not overpowering any aspect of the guitar. The East Indian Rosewood is so pretty, reddish with pinks, where it was quite striking. I was surprised by how round she sounds, with nothing shrill or unexpected. The Cutaway allows for easy access to the upper ranges, being most comfortable to play and tool around on up to the 15th fret with easy access to the higher ranges.
Excellent work by the master luthier from California. Len’s work was intriguing and accessible price-wise to me. Looking forward to seeing her, I was pleasantly surprised at how easily she plays, her warmth, clarity and projection. Len writes that this has a brilliant sound with excellent projection, with exceptional sustain. Interesting overtones was his other comment. I agree wholeheartedly.
This is more of a Classical Cutaway than a Finger-Style, as the nut width and spacings are bigger than expected, making it super easy to get into those cramped chordal positions, with a good amount of room at the 1st fret down to the cutaway itself.
He included a comfortable armrest as well as Premium Sloane machines. The guitar is strung with D’Addario Nylon and Carbon high tension strings.

Media
Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich
MP3 Audio – 220316-2021 Len Laviolette 154 Cutaway FS Cedar DT EIRW – awesome, with plenty of space to play, bright, airy and boomy in the basses. Lot of fun.

Please note that as a Global Statement for my site, for Tuning machines, Accessories, and most guitars, that Shipping is NOT Free any longer. Costs have gone up dramatically. Regardless of what or where you might read on the site, shipping is not free any longer. Choose the least expensive method, if available, or Expedited if you want them quicker. My apologies. Rich
Please DO NOT Choose USPS Media Mail to ship a guitar – choose FedEx Home or Ground Delivery or any Expedited Method. The more expensive a guitar, the more likely you should choose a 1 or 2 day method. It’s pure common sense, especially when it is too hot or too cold outside.
I have added numerous options for you to choose the cost and method, including USPS Priority and Express, as well as FedEx options (we can substitute UPS for FedEx, simply indicate your preference in the Notes window at Check Out).
Thank you!
