2021 Silvia Zanchi Concert Cedar Bocote
Comments
I was fortunate enough to meet with one of the most talented luthiers from Italy, a few years ago in Rome at the Roma Expo, a wonderful experience for me personally. I have found that luthier relationships take a long while to develop, where she has trusted me with her latest work. I am honored.
She has sent me her Limited Edition model, Reg 2021, from the Roma Expo of 2021 as well. This is a special instrument, with incredible purfling and rosette work.
Here, we present her standard classical concert model in Cedar, still with beautiful purfling work. She used a number of materials in the creation of the purflings, bindings and rosette, including, snakewood, abalone, mop, copper, synthetic resin. The Pagos machines are on a par with the highest level machines. Strung with Savarez 540 ARJ strings, the guitar is alive. Gods, I love this lady!
These are my 2nd and 3rd guitars from Silvia. She is so bloody tasteful, and clearly a master of her work. I am so pleased with the guitar, I wrote to Silvia immediately. The guitar is clear, vibrant, almost sensual in her Italian character. The woods are excellent, the Cedar is magnificent, the Bocote simply drop dead gorgeous. It is such an incredible choice, for character and looks. Simply Superb!
I was intrigued about the Bocote woods, used in the guitar, finding out that it is an exotic wood native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. It features a wide range of grain patterns from straight to wild, with curved lines and swirls. The color ranges from golden brown to tan to golden yellow. It is a hard, heavy, and dense wood, strong and stiff, with a medium texture. It is a close relative to Ziricote, where harvesting is done selectively using mules, helping to maintain a sustainable resource, avoiding clearing when cutting.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich
MP3 Audio – 210819-2021 Silvia Zanchi Concert Cedar Bocote – the lady never disappoints. Clear and bold, precise, with bells and drive, bloom and balance. Love her.

Please note that as a Global Statement for my site, for Tuning machines, Accessories, and most guitars, that Shipping is NOT Free any longer. Costs have gone up dramatically. Regardless of what or where you might read on the site, shipping is not free any longer. Choose the least expensive method, if available, or Expedited if you want them quicker. My apologies. Rich
Please DO NOT Choose USPS Media Mail to ship a guitar – choose FedEx Home or Ground Delivery or any Expedited Method. The more expensive a guitar, the more likely you should choose a 1 or 2 day method. It’s pure common sense, especially when it is too hot or too cold outside.
I have added numerous options for you to choose the cost and method, including USPS Priority and Express, as well as FedEx options (we can substitute UPS for FedEx, simply indicate your preference in the Notes window at Check Out).
Thank you!
