2025 Larry Breslin DT Lattice Spruce Brazilian
Comments:
The guitar is sublimely beautiful, as I would expect from a master such as Larry Breslin. Her voice is bright, quite clear and forceful with a tinge of bells due more than likely to the gorgeous CSA that Larry chose this guitar. The Brazilian Rosewood is aged 40+ years, which is gorgeous, by the way and the beautiful Spruce Top is aged 20 years. The Double Top with Lattice bracing is very active, quite resonant.
The rosette is handmade while the bridge has pearl inlay. There is a fret marker on the 7th fret, while the neck is extended on the treble side to the 21st fret. She is also ported with an innovative sliding door . A very pretty guitar. The guitar also features an elevated FretBoard, spectacular CSA RW and premium Gotoh machines.
I enjoyed playing this guitar quite a bit. Larry moved from the Colorado area years ago, moving to the Palm Coast area of Florida. Him and I discussed this move, his excitement and the land he chose. I remember that he built his workshop separately from his home mostly on his own. That 7 year journey has now culminated in him sending me a truly fine instrument, with a voice and play that I can admire, one that I could play all day.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.
