I wanted to offer you Lorenzo’s own thoughts on this “new” project, where he and his son have begun and now completed work on this project, having refined the ideas with Lorenzo’s expertise over these many years. An exciting prospect of owning a Frignani Classical Guitar at the price point offered is one that none should pass.
“Dear Richard,
Writing to you from the boiling Italian summer, hoping to find you good and happy.
Sending you this email as I have recently developed a new project together with my son, who has recently joined “the boat” (as I believe, I have already mentioned to you).
That said, we wanted to propose it to you.
The project is named “LIUTERIA FRIGNANI”, and it is about the realization of three new guitar models’ (string-length 64 and 65) for advanced/professional students, respectively:
– Enrique Garcia 1915 it’s an asymmetrical 8 bracing soundboard, with the 4th one on the basses, characterised by a more warm & coloured sound.
– Manuel Ramirez 1910 it’s a classic 7 bracing soundboard, characterised by a more bright and traditional spanish tone.
– Personal Model it’s a reinterpretation of my personal project, with its iconic X-bracing, characterised by a more contemporary and voluminous sound.
Our strategy in Europe is to be the most “consumer-focused” as possible, having my son, Eugenio, creating a network of professors and students by going directly into the conservatories. Let them try the guitars with all the calm and peace needed, while spreading the voice in the most powerful way possible (face-to-face & word of mouth). Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich
