Just Arrived – a beautiful sweet sound emanates from this beast of a guitar.  I was immediately struck by the purity and the power of her voice.  There is nothing to report regarding condition.  The Cedar is spectacular, clearly displaying beautiful medullar rays throughout, while the CSA RW is dark, straight and a dark chocolate with slight highlights in her grain.

Angel builds a very straightforward guitar, in terms of appearance, a simple binding scheme, a trademark rosette and headstock.  The work is in the guitar itself, with a simple and open diamond fan system with a single brace running up the middle.  2 cross bars finish the design.  Very simple, very elegant.

She evidences a beautiful woody guttiness to her mids, with blooming basses and a clear ringing treble string all up the register.  The action is low, maybe even a touch too low.  If you have a light touch, then no problem.  Moderate, you’re OK.  If you’re going to go after her, she needs to be raised a 1/2 a mm.  Regardless, this is a serious guitar in every way.

MP3 Audio – 2009-aguado-cedar-csa – Seriously great guitar.  I’d keep her.  Very powerful, very sweet, easily played.  The Spanish masters are still among the best and Angel is right there with the best of them.

I’m playing my own “Prelude #10 in E Major – Un Padre si Ricorda” in memory of my Father using this Aguado.  What a beautiful guitar!
