This guitar is simply one of the most musical of instruments you might ever hear. The ability of this guitar to evince the slightest nuance becomes immediately apparent. From power to subtlety, the guitar has it all, as evidenced by Ulyana Machneva down in Charleston, SC, where she basically commandeered me for an hour or so, playing this guitar right in the hall where the GFA was held, and played the living daylights out of this guitar. Honest, I thought she was going to take it on the spot. I have video that I need permission to post, but believe me, I couldn’t believe how incredibly good she sounded on this guitar. A few friends of hers were there, Liel, Natalia, and 2 other nice ladies I can’t remember their names, me and my assistant, Dan Bouza, and that was it. A little private concert. She wowed the heck out of us, and that’s putting it mildly.
Then there’s the workmanship, in plain sight of Jean and who he is, the true master builder that he is, the pride that he takes in his work is clearly evident. The rosette work, the purfling, the 3 dimensional V Joint of the headstock, the carving and lines of the headstock, the choices in wood, etc. I can not imagine the hours this wonderfully gentle man puts into his guitars, given that he builds at most, 7 or 8 per year. Honestly, the guitar is under-priced. Once you play her, you will know exactly why I say this. Make no mistake, you will be looking at one of the finer instruments available to you on the planet. Importantly, he is a sweetheart of a man, who is always welcome in my home, as is his entire family. Hear that Jean! Anytime! 🙂

If not immediately apparent, this classical guitar has Sold to a wonderful player in the North East of the USA. As anticipated,, this guitar did not last too long in the studio. But, we have recorded the session (or at least part of it) where we extrapolated 2 videos, which will be updated shortly going into the week of July 16, 2012 … now I just need to get another guitar from Jean.
