2002 John Price #174 Spruce Cocobolo

John Price builds a superb classical guitar with a musical voice, power and resonance.  The guitar is very active, bold, forceful and clear in all registers.  I will write more below when I record the guitar.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio  – 210104-John Price 174 2002 Spruce Cocobolo – a recent recording with Prelude #15 in C Major, one of my sketches and a shortened version of “Dance Lady Diva” – love the big sound and air around the guitar, with booming basses and lilting trebles.  Quite powerful, yet intimate in her abilities.  Setup very well, plays easily

MP3 Audio – Doug Stefaniak – John Price – Doug Stefaniak plays Lennox Barkley “Theme and Variations for Guitar op 77 variation #4” from Video below.
