Comments:

This classical guitar represents one of Manuel’s highest end builds, using the best woods available to him and built in his shop in Toledo, Spain.  I also have full paperwork available for international shipping, CITES and Lacey Act Paperwork, provided by Manuel himself.

She is beautiful.  The Western Red Cedar has deep lines, straight and true, while the Madagascar Rosewood is simply superb.  The rosette and bindings are spectacular, using various woods including PurpleHeart. Her sound is deeply Spanish, as expected from one of the premier builders in the region.  This is a truly exceptional Spanish instrument.  I have done a personal and in depth setup on each of these guitars.

Media:

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio – 181219-Manuel Rodriguez MR JR Cedar Madagascar #878 – an enjoyable guitar, where I play some of Sam’s Lullaby, explore the ranges, and one of my Sketches.  I did an extensive setup on the guitar, where she plays really well and sounds great.  I’ve also lowered the price to move her.

Another older MP3 – Sagreras Book 3 Lesson 18 arranged by Kent Murdick
