Richard Bruné Classical Guitar #731
Just Arrived. A professional out of the MidWest needed to part with this fabulous instrument, thus I can offer it to you. Otherwise, it is simply improbable to get your hands on one of Richard’s incredible guitars. Especially one with these details and woods from Richard’s choice stock. After I received the guitar, I spoke with Bruné for about a half hour. BTW, he is and always has been a seriously good guy, easy going and very friendly. Of course, few know more than him LOL Anyway, he proceeds to tell me he is not taking a list of orders anymore, his backlog is a minimum of 4 years, never you mind the money they go for in the market. He also gave me the lowdown on the build for this particular guitar and the pro involved. The headstock is hand carved. The abalone bridge is magnificent. The internal bracing is based on a Bouchet, with refinements by Bruné. The guitar itself is quite unique, as per Richard, and so much work, he made it clear that he would rather not build it again.
Really, he is a nice nice man, and so very talented.
Well, playing this guitar lets you know right away that she’s worth every penny and more. Easy play first of all, with the ability to pounce on her. She responds nicely. The balance, the voicing, the separation, the highs, the lows, those piercing trebles are sweet, what can one say….she has it all. A truly magnificent classical guitar by one of the American Masters.
Ah, the label. It says #731, but the date is 1991 or something like that. The guitar was built or finished early 2012. Call me if you have questions as to why the label says 1991, though it should be obvious if you’ve ever tried to ship or transport a guitar across country lines.
Condition is excellent. There are some slight finger marks in the finish, nothing in the wood, under the rosette. There is one fine scratch in the soundboard finish, just above the neck. Typical slight swirling of finish in the back, but really, nothing of any consequence that can be seen from more than a foot away. I doubt you will see anything I’ve described in the attached high res photos. All very superficial and not a lot of it either. The previous owner is a fabulous and aggressive classical and flamenco player, with almost 🙂 I said almost flawless technique. What? They get excitable! Playing this monster by Richard would get anyone excited. Awesome guitar.
