Richard Prenkert 2016 Classical Guitar #372 Cedar w/Madagascar RW
Comments
Richard always builds an exceptional classical guitar using the best materials and all of his experience. Powerful, sweet, easily played, his guitars are highly prized. She is gorgeous. The top is a superb example of Western Red Cedar, the back and sides with exceptional Madagascar Rosewood, straight grained, beautiful coloring. Note that the guitar is a Traditional 7 Fan Braced guitar. She sounds amazing.
The guitar plays fast and easy with sublime voicing, excellent separation, clear lines in her singing. She also wants to be driven, seriously releasing some bold yet warm power. Clarity is exceptional, almost surprisingly so, until you remember that Richard built it. He likes sweet power, with exceptional clarity, even with his cedar guitar.
I’m a little disappointed this guitar has not sold. She is an exceptional instrument. So, a little added incentive…I’ve lowered the price down to $6995, albeit reluctantly. She’s too good to be ignored.

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended
MP3 Audio – prenkert-372-cedar – I have played this guitar, and lost an hour of my life to her. This is an unbelievable guitar. Pow bang and zoom, in your face. Responsive, no break in her, and I went after her. Superb traditional build by the California master.

The piece played here is a sketch written by me called “Gamma di Preludio”which is all about illustrating the various ranges of the guitar. It includes, toward the end, a shortened version of “Lasciati Avvolgere” by Giorgio Signorile again highlighting the open strings, mid range and low range of the guitar.
