Vicente Carrillo Primera Cedar EIRW 650mm

This is a standard Primera model 1A by Vicente, Western Red Cedar and Solid East Indian Rosewood (EIRW).  Accented by Gotoh Premium 35G510P machines, it also comes with a Cibeles Vicente Carrillo HSC.  The guitar is quite the resonant beast, workmanship quite good.  The price is set below $4K plus shipping cost.  Aa beautiful Spanish classical with the character that one would want in a traditional classical from Spain by one of their premier builders.

I also have these in a 640mm scale length for those with a finger-span of less than 9″ (tip of your thumb to pinky, comfortably outstretched).  Having fitted players for decades, it is remarkable to me how many struggle with a 650mm when a 640mm scale length would simply be so much more comfortable.  Please see the Vicente Carrillo India 1A Primera Cedar EIRW 640mm here in this link.

• Fingerboard: Ebony with Dual-Action Truss Rod for easy adjustments (this is regarding the newer 2024 models, identical to the older iterations except for the new truss rod addition).

I have them strung with my own normal or high tension strings seen here – https://www.savageclassical.com/product/savage-classical-guitar-classical-guitar-strings/

Vicente Carrillo builds his guitars in Casasimarro Spain, about 100 miles West of Valencia, Spain.  Vicente is quickly becoming one of my favorite Spanish builders.

Media

Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich

MP3 Audio – 200403-Vicente Carrillo Primera Cedar EIRW – the guitar is fun to play.  I love an authentic Spanish guitar experience, which this has in total.  Lovely sustain, without ringing along too much, bold, direct and balanced in her voices, with a touch of darkness anticipated in a Cedar Rosewood guitar.
